In June 2018 Mullane participated in the 2018 gala fundraising event ‘Stars of Newcastle – Dance for Cancer’ on behalf of Cancer Council NSW. Mullane’s very own STAR – Brad Garrard was partnered with a professional dancer and spent 12 weeks learning the “La La Land” dance to perform in front of 600+ people.
Over the course of 3 months the Mullane team banded together and held several fundraising events including a trivia night, auctions and a very successful Mullane Charity Cocktail Night.
A fantastic effort and we thank all those involved!
Since 1975 the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service has grown from a part-time voluntary summer beach patrol to world-class aeromedical search and rescue operation.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service currently undertakes more than 1000 missions each year across the Hunter, New England – North West, Central Coast, Central West and Mid North Coast regions. This area covers approximately 132,000 square kilometers and includes a population of 1.2 million people. On the back of continued community support, no-one has ever paid to be airlifted from an emergency.
Here at Mullane our staff has joined together to collectively support the great works of The Westpac Rescue Service. Every week staff donate money from their own wages to help us contribute to this great cause.
Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children (RIDBC) is Australia’s largest non-government provider of education, therapy and cochlear implant services for children and adults with vision or hearing loss, their families, and the professionals who support them. Mullane proudly supports the RIDBC and has participated in the Hunter Kick 4 a Cause the last two years running.
Aimed at inspiring apprentices to be ambitious in their careers, WorldSkills Australia Competitions equip young people with the right skills to help Australian businesses compete better globally.
Designed by industry and skills experts, the competitions assess an individual’s knowledge, practical skills and employability attributes against a set of strict criteria. Focusing on the highest quality of standards aligned to the industry endorsed training packages, employers and training providers can use the activity to benchmark their own apprenticeship and training programs.
On 11th May 2017, 5 of our Plumbing Apprentices competed in the WorldSkills competition. All of the boys did really well but a big shout out goes to Sam Johnston who came 2nd in pipework building for different types of water systems and Rob H who won the quickest installation of a flick mixer tap.
Well done boys!
